A person is born, grows up, goes to school, gets a job, starts a family…eats, drinks, lives, makes phone calls, goes to work, draws a salary, pays taxes, goes shopping, gets an ID, orders online, spends money, opens bank accounts, has credit cards and loyalty cards, produces waste, makes contracts, uses all sorts of services, drives in traffic jams, falls ill, is treated and cured, goes on holiday, uses planes and trains -constantly carrying a mobile or smart phone….with a wide variety of applications...
Having an enormous infrastructure in the background; goods are being produced, stored, transported and applied; with telecommunication networks always keeping us in touch...
All these factors create a system of tightly linked information in the shape of data- data that is continually developing, changing, expanding and connecting - again and again...

In the olden days, information was recorded in books and registers which were kept in churches, town halls and offices– written on paper.
These days information is stored in electronic databases.
Administrational bodies, companies and social networks apply this electronic data to various tasks. This is where we draw in IT systems to improve efficiency - supporting the interface between human beings and machines. Products and rates are continually changing as a result of the increasing quantity of data, the changing of laws and of new requirements developing in security needs and new business models.
New IT systems are constantly being developed, standard software is being adjusted to particular requirements and operational implementations are extended.
Often these IT systems are outsourced to cheaper foreign companies. Test-data is an essential need to these companies, as well as to their clients.
